My first Christmas Morning arrived and look what awaited downstairs

Mommy got me out of bed and brought me downstairs when Daddy was ready
Before it was time to go see everything under the tree, it was time for some Christmas Breakfast...YUM
Then some pictures
Mommy & Me
Daddy and Me
Then my Nana & PopPop came over to join in the fun
This is so fun.
Family Pictures from Christmas Morning
And Christmas Night Pictures, before going to Nana & PopPop's for dinner

Here I am with my Mimi & Pop at Christmas Dinner...I love you Mimi & Pop

Then Mommy and Daddy saw a photo shoot opportunity.
And the next week was time for Christmas with my Nona & Popi. More presents for me??? How will i ever play with all of these toys?

My first Christmas was so wonderful. It was great being able to see everyone. Thank you for all of my wonderful presents. I love them all. Now i need to go play with some of them so I will talk to you all later.

Glad you have time for me Daddy

It is only about a month later, but Daddy finally found time to post about Christmas.

Twas the day before Christmas and we went to see my Cousin Cole

First we stopped on the front porch for some pictures in Cole's red rocking chair.

We then went inside and Cole played me one of his original songs on his guitar.
My Mimi came to join in all of the fun

And Carlee came too
When outside Cole heard such a clatter, he looked out the window to see what was the matter
He moved to the front door to get a better peek
And looked back at everyone, letting out such a shriek
Do you recognize those boots?
SANTA!!!!!!! I KNOW HIM and he was at Cole's house to visit on Christmas Eve
Cole & Carlee loved to visit
Then it was my turn...Daddy got me close and well...
Then Mommy tried and much of the same
Santa knew what to do and grabbed a lollipop.
Then we tried while Cole was on Santa's lap, dressed in his Chef's Costume
Nana & PopPop even got to visit with Santa
And then all of the girls posed with Santa (Nana, Cat, Carlee, Meg, MiMi and Mommy)
Then we tried again. Santa tried his silly face with me. Daddy loves this picture.
But once the humor of the funny face wore off...
That is better, I am with Cat & Carlee and Santa is a safe distance behind
Christmas Eve night we went over to my Nana & PopPop's house for dinner and presents. It was so fun. Wrapping Paper was everywhere...
Sometimes you need to get your feet involved
Or both feet and hands
Merry Christmas to All and to all a good night

8 months old!!

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to meeee, Happy Birthday to me!! Can you even believe that I am 8 months old today?? Mommy and daddy keep saying how fast these past 8 months have gone by! We have been talking about going to get my 8 month pictures done at the picture people, but Mommy is a little concerned seeing that tomorrow is supposed to be the coldest day we have had since 2005!!! So, we will see if we get to venture out into the cold weather tomorrow or if it will wait until next week!

Catching Up

Now that the Fun of the Holiday Season is over, our blog will begin to get more posts...that is once Daddy puts away all of the Christmas stuff that Mommy packed up. Sorry for the lack of updates.

Daddy thought long and hard about his last blog entry about me sleeping so well before he put it on here. He always knows that as soon as he begins to brag, it turns against him. Not that I haven't been sleeping better than i did for the 7 months prior, but it has not been the 8 consecutive hours that I teased them with in Aruba and when we first got back from Aruba. That will teach him!!!

I still only have my two bottom teeth. They are sharp as razors Mommy and Daddy tell me. I was wondering why when I bite down on my hands or toes, it hurts so bad now. Is it not bad enough that i have to cut these teeth? Speaking of cutting teeth, I am working on a couple top teeth. Before long i will have matching top and bottom teeth...then imagine the damage i can do.

I am also getting ready to be on the move...i have been working on my crawling technique. In the past, i have been able to roll all around to get into everything. Then i saw some of my buddies crawling and it looked much more efficient to get from one place to another so I have been practicing. I get up on my hands and knees and rock. I keep rocking until i get frustrated and drop back down to my belly and roll to my desired location. In the past few days, i have started to move my arm and leg a little bit when i am up in the crawling position. My Mommy's and Daddy's lives are about to change forever.

I have said my first words...that is at least what my mommy and daddy want to call it and that is fine with me. I actually started to say my first consonant sounds on the day after Thanksgiving. We were riding to North Carolina and I would say, "MaMaMaMaMaMa". So Daddy, even though I only like saying "DaDa" now, i got "MaMa" in there first. I am non-stop with the "DaDa" now. I have even slipped in a "Daddy" and you should see the smile on my Daddy's face when that happens. If i could only figure out how to ask him for that Pony after I say Daddy. My parents are putty in my hands.

Eating...wow, where do i start. I am eating some of everything now. In Aruba, my Nana introduced me to the good-life. I was eating ice cream (yes, i know i shouldn't, but who can resist on a hot day), puffs, insides of french fries, mashed potatoes, all sorts of fruit and my Aunt Meg even let me have some Pina Colada. I know what you are thinking...starting off early on the bottle aren't you? Remember please that my Aunt Meg is pregnant so that Pina Colada was a virgin. Mommy and Daddy changed my diet a little bit after i got home from Aruba, but it is still filled with great things. I get all sorts of vegetables, fruits and have even started eating chicken. Puffs are still my favorite. I can actually grab them with my own fingers and have figured out how to quickly get them into my mouth. Earlier this week, i shocked everyone again. For the last 7+ months I have had no interest in bottles. You will remember this from earlier posts. Mommy and Daddy were lucky to get me to eat from a bottle for more than a minute. I just liked Mommy's fresh milk better. I was over at my Nana & PopPop's house on Tuesday night and my Nana was feeding me some of her homemade Dumplings (she makes some good Chicken and Dumplings)~have i mentioned that i love to go to her house? Do you blame me? Once i was done with my dumplings, my PopPop held me and tried to give me a bottle filled with Apple juice. I drank it all down and looked up to see that everyone was staring at me as if I had solved the Rubik's cube. If my Aunt Meg was there, she would have exclaimed, "Yahtzee". I finally figured out that bottle thing and have been enjoying my apple juice ever since.
Well, i am going to take a nap now (actually i have been napping for the past hour and a half~~another milestone of mine. I have been taking good 2-3 hour naps every morning).
You guys have a great Sunday...i will be back later to post more.

7 months & big progress

Last Monday I made my way via the Mommy & Daddy taxi to see Dr. Karp. It was time for a couple more shots and to get checked out. To catch you up, as of my last visit about a month earlier I weighed in at 14lbs 6 1/2 ozs. Then I was freed to start eating some of that good food that all of these older people eat. Vegetables & Fruits...OH MY! My favorites are definitely Sweet Potatoes. Least favorite are Green Peas. And all of these fruits and veggies have been doing my body good. When the nurse weighed me on Monday, i weighed 16 lbs 1 oz. That is almost 2 pounds in a month. And now i have been introduced to meats. Mommy and Daddy turn their nose up to them and will not even taste them like they do the fruits and veggies...do they really think those Big Macs taste better??
Everything else is good. It appears that my Torticollis has not come back as the physical therapist warned. I actually slept in the car seat the other day with my head tilted to the right side. This was a big step as for the last 7 months, i have slept with my head to the left side.
And while I am talking about sleep...as you may or may not know, i have not been ready to sleep for more than 3-4 hours at a time during the night. Mommy and Daddy struggled with this as they are not fans of letting me "cry it out", but they were ready to get some decent sleep. They read books, other blogs, internet sites and everyone had great advice. Last Wednesday night, December 17, 2008, I decided I would let them know I was ready to sleep through the night now. It was the last night in Aruba. We all went to bed at about 9:30pm and they woke up when they heard me crying. They looked down, wiped their eyes, saw the time on the clock, wiped their eyes again, looked at each other and couldn't hold in their enthusiasm...it was 5:30. I slept for 8 hours without nursing or crying and did all of this in a hotel crib. Ever since this time, I have been doing such a good job at sleeping through the night. Some nights i will get up and just need some reassurance or a little mommy-milk, but then i fall back to sleep and have been averaging 8-9 hours each night. So after all of the advice and research, I let them know when i was ready. Life is Good!
